HP Slate 500, Tablet PC ber-os Windows 7 Professional

Saat diumumkan awal 2010, Tablet PC ini diramalkan bakal menyasar konsumen umum dengan fitur bisnis dan fun. Namun, setelah HP resmi mengakuisisi Palm, pergeseran peruntukan pun mulai berubah, lebih focus ke bisnis. Sementara, buat umum dikabarkan bakal menggunakan WebOS dari Palm. Untuk fitur bawaannya sendiri, HP Slate 500 dibekali prosesor Intel Atom Z540 1.86 GHz, chip Graphics Media Accelerator 500, layar 8.9 inchi dengan resolusi 1024×600 piksel, serta dua kamera, termasuk kamera sensor 3 MP di bagian belakang. Selain itu tablet PC ini juga dilengkapi dengan ‘HDMI dock’ untuk menampilkan gambar video ke televisi dengan resolusi ‘high definition’.Menurut Carol Hess-Nickels, Director of Worldwide Business Notebook Marketing di HP’s Personal Systems Group, HP Slate 500 berbasis Windows 7 agar mudah diadopsi kalangan enterprise. Adanya support VPN (virtual private network) membuat karyawan aman terhubung dengan jaringan korporat.
HP Slate 500 akan segera dipasarkan di Amerika Serikat sehargaUSD 799 atau sekitar Rp 7,1 juta, belum ada keterangan apakah nantinya bakal dijual secara global.
